Day Tickets for Thornton Steward Reservoir normally cease at the end of November. However it is clear from talking to regular day ticket holders, as well as our members, that many see a days fishing at Thornton Steward an important recreational activity given the travel and other restrictions imposed due to Coronavirus and Covid-19.
Consequently we have decided to make winter day tickets available for those who want them during the winter months of December, January and February. These Winter day tickets will be available at a reduced rate of £16 with a 2 fish bag limit. As this is special reduced rate there is no concessionary rate. Anyone buying a Winter Day Ticket needs to be aware that the reservoir is not stocked during this period.
A Winter Day Ticket will be available from 1st December 2020 until 19th February 2021 and can be purchased from:
1. Gilslan Sports. 2 High Street, Leyburn, (Monday to Saturday)
2. The Weighouse, 8A Market Place, Bedale, DL8 1FQ, (Monday to Saturday)
3. Akebar Park, Leyburn, DL8 5LY (open 7 days a week).
Given these uncertain times due to Covid-19 it may be advisable to ring a chosen outlet prior to fishing to check if it is indeed open. Similarly if fishing on a Sunday it may be necessary to buy a ticket a day or so ahead.
