A new month

River wear

A big thanks to members Alex, Charlie and Jim who greatly assisted committee members Dave Cave and Alan Horner in removing the two fallen trees from ban the bomb pool last Thursday. Removing big fallen trees from the river at any time is really strenuous work but we all know how hot it was last week so it was even harder for the guys so a big thank you from us all.

Junior Competition

Just a reminder that we have our annual junior competition on Thornton Steward Reservoir on the 10th August commencing st 10.00am. This event is being organised by club bailiff Barry Gibson and it is not to late to enter your junior relative.

Latest on the rivers

Things are starting to pick up slowly on the rivers with fish being seen on a regular basis and some success being had. Top river at present is the Tyne with members starting to catch both salmon and sea trout. The Tweed is also at an excellent height at present and should present members with the opportunity of catching a truly fresh run salmon.

Bellingham Show

Any members fishing our Tyne beats later this month may wish to take the opportunity to visit the annual Bellingham Show. It takes place on Saturday 25th August and is on the playing fields Next to the bridge over the river.
