The rivers are unfishable today due to the Rain we have had over the last few days. If no further rains follow then we expect the rivers to be in ideal conditions for wetting a line over the weekend and we hope the fish join in our activities.

Unbeknown to the club, members of the club and the general public were sending the club various enquiries to our email and becoming slightly  frustrated at not receiveing any reply from us. It was only following a phone call to secretary Dave Wilson from a member that the problem came to our attention. Thankfully, and hopefully, this was resolved yesterday and things should be operating as normal.

Rothley Lake

This small lake is very popular with our members for rainbow trout fishing but the lake has provided minor problems for members of late, though fish are still being caught. Catching a fish then watching it head off into the direction of the water lillies and weeds makes it frustrating for the members. Treatment has been carried out on the water lillies which just leaves the weeds to sort out. We intend to have a working party on the lake on either a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday within the next few weeks to ensure better fishing conditions for the rest of the season. As usual we ask if members can assist with this project and are looking for 6 members to help the committee with this. If you can assist then can you please contact head bailiff Dave Cave with your details.

Peters Hole

Members who know the Tyne beats will be aware that Peters Hole has had this huge tree stuck in it for more years than we care to remember and it did of course hinder the members fishing this spot. We are pleased to advise that through Bellingham Angling Club that the offending tree has now been removed, tight lines on fish not the tree for the future.
