Today is the first day of our 2013 season and the only river that will potentially bring fish for members this early in the season will be the river Till. Having 2 beats on the river will be of benefit to all members as one beat will fish better in higher water than the other beat. This early in the season we do not expect that members will be into any salmon but you may be lucky with a freshly run sea trout. It does however give members the opportunity to get out on the river banks again after several months of inactivity and to wet a line. As usual we do ask that members check river levels before setting off to fish and following some heavy snow over the last couple of weeks then snow melt may hinder opportunities.

This is the final reminder to members that our 29th AGM takes place next Wednesday, 6th February, in the lounge of Birtley Golf Club with the meeting starting at 8.00pm prompt. The Club House will be open from 7.00pm and members that are attending are reminded to bring the 2012 minutes and the 2013 agenda, sent out recently, with them as we will not have any available on the night. We will have a full agenda as usual and hopefully a nice surprise for members on the night as well as the usual excellent buffet. The committee look forward to seeing members new and old on the night.
