The October figures for fish entering three of our major rivers have been released by the Environment Agency. The figures are, Tyne 4872, Wear 1829 and Tees 156. The figures for the Tyne take the figure for the season to 31078 and anglers alike must be pleased with these figures. The figures for the Wear are 12154 and whilst up on 2012 numbers this is the third lowest set of figures recorded for the river. The Tees produced some 156 for October and numbers are down by some 45% on 2012.

2013 Catch Returns

Members are starting to provide their catch return sheets to us for 2013 though more are still expected. Early indications show that the number of sea trout caught appear significantly down on previous years and speaking to members throughout the season it has a lot af anglers baffled as to why. Members and anglers alike are reminded that they should have returned their catch return sheet to the Environmental Agency.

Rivers Tweed and Till

There are just over two weeks left of the season for migratory fish on these waters and members are reminded about placing in their car the number of anglers fishing, especially on the Fenton Beat. Though anglers should not need reminding it is fly only now on these two rivers.
