River Updates

The month of August brought some very good runs of fish into our rivers and some good fishing was had by many members on club waters. The numbers of fish entering the rivers in August were 8168 for the Tyne, 4247 for the Wear and 355 for the Tees. The figures for the Tyne and Wear are the 3rd highest set of figures for the month of August for both rivers. September has also got of to a good start with members again having some good success this last week. One member catching 4 salmon on Sunday all in the 10lb to 12lb range and he had further success on the Monday with a lovely grilse of around 6lb and actually lost a much heavier fish that he had no control over. On the same day three other members also had success with one member landing a salmon of around 10lb, one member with a fish of 15lb and these were followed later in the day with a member landing a salmon  that weighed in at a cracking 29lb 4oz.. Further rain this week has kept the fish running and further rain due over this coming weekend should see more fish entering the rivers to continue the good sport.
