Fish Counts

The latest fish count figures have been added for the rivers Tyne and Wear. The figures remain lower than 2012 but it is believed that this has been down to the very cold water temperatures of the rivers and therefore the fish have not been inclined to take the rivers. The last week has seen the temperatures increase slightly and fish are starting to move upstream.

Thanks to members that assisted with the last two stockings at both Rothely lake and Crag Lough. As always your assistance is greatly appreciated. Several committee members visited Bellingham yesterday to see the owner regarding carrying out further bank clearing on the beats. The owners woodsman will make a start on the lower Carriteth beat in the next few days and this will be followed up by a working party from the club to further enhance members access to this beat.
