Fish Counts. Early indications show very few fish taking any of our local rivers (January figures are Tyne - 4, Wear - 7 and Tees - 3. February is 1 for the Tyne.) . Regretfully there is still no sign of the counter being re-installed for the Coquet in the near future.

Thornton Steward - Our seasonal stocking programme has already commenced with our normal size fish in the 2lb region and weather permitting members will be again able to wet their lines and get their season off to a promising start.

River Tweed - Though proving to being popular at this stage of the season with the river level being at a very fishable height we are still awaiting to hear of the first fish being taken.

River Wear - We need to carry out some essential bank maintenance around and downstream of the ashes area of the beat and ask members that can afford some time to assist in this work to contact committee member Alan Horner either by our email site or by his phone number in your hand book, thanks go out in anticipation of your assistance.

Brown Trout Season. The wild brown trout season starts on our rivers on 22nd March and again gives members the opportunity to wet their lines.

Rod Licence. All members must be in possession of a valid rod licence before commencing to fish any waters and a reminder that ALL licences are renewable from 1st April. Available NOW on-line or at all English and Welsh Post Offices

Coarse Section. Members of our coarse section are reminded that we are now in the close season as of 15th March.
